How to Claim a Kerala Lottery Prize: Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: After confirming your win, sign on the back of the original Kerala lottery ticket and clearly write your full name and address along with the signature.

Step 2: If the prize amount exceeds Rs. 5,000, visit the District Lottery Office or the Directorate of State Lotteries with your original ticket. Carry a duly filled claim form, two passport-size photographs, a self-attested copy of a valid ID proof (such as Aadhaar or Voter ID), and your PAN card.

Step 3: Winners of prizes up to Rs. 1 lakh can claim their amount at the District Lottery Office. For prizes ranging between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 20 lakh, claims must be submitted to the Deputy Director (Prize). Prizes above Rs. 20 lakh must be claimed directly from the Director of State Lotteries in Thiruvananthapuram.

Step 4: Prize claims must be submitted within 30 days from the draw date. Claims made after this period will not be accepted, and the prize amount may be forfeited.

Step 5: As per government rules, 30% of the prize money will be deducted as income tax. Additionally, if the ticket was purchased through an authorised agent, a 10% agent commission will apply.

Step 6: Before submitting your claim, it is strongly advised to verify your ticket using the official Kerala Lottery Barcode Scanner app. This helps confirm the authenticity of the ticket and safeguards against fraud.
