The new pick-up regulations at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, implemented at Terminal 1 on December 13, have not gone down well with cab operators.

Following criticism of the newly-introduced pick-up regulations, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has extended the free parking duration at the Terminal 1 arrival area at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, effective from December 26 from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.
BIAL stated: “We have extended the free parking duration at Terminal 1 arrival pick-up areas P3 and P4 from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. This enhancement is designed to provide greater ease and flexibility for passengers and their families, while supporting smoother traffic flow and a more seamless arrival experience.
“To further ease passenger movement and enhance the arrival experience, passengers can choose between a fleet of shuttles (every 7 minutes), 6 cars, and 10 buggies operating to and from the P3/P4 pick-up areas. This ensures convenient, frequent, and assisted movement for passengers.”
Under the earlier pick-up regulations implemented at Terminal 1 on December 13, commercial vehicles were required to wait in the designated P3 and P4 parking areas, where a complimentary parking period of 10 minutes was provided. This free waiting duration has now been increased to 15 minutes. Beyond this period, cab operators will be charged ₹100 for the first 30 minutes, followed by ₹50 for each additional hour.
