Faridabad Rape Case: Police Arrest Two After Alleged In-Vehicle Assault

According
to
officers,
the
van
was
travelling
at
more
than
90
kmph
when
the
woman
was
allegedly
thrown
out
near
Raja
Chowk
at
about
3
AM
on
Monday.
She
sustained
deep
wounds
on
her
face
and
head,
needed
over
12
stitches,
and
doctors
have
declared
the
woman
unfit
to
record
a
formal
statement.

Investigators
stated
that
the
accused
kept
driving
through
the
night
instead
of
stopping
after
picking
up
the
woman.
Police
said
the
vehicle
used
in
the
crime
has
been
seized,
and
both
suspects
have
reportedly
admitted
their
role
during
questioning,
though
their
full
statements
have
not
yet
been
placed
on
record.

“We

nabbed
the
accused
and
are
questioning
them.
They
will

produced

court.
Since
a
test
identification
parade

accused
cannot
be
disclosed
at
this
stage,” Faridabad
police
spokesperson

said.

woman
had
been
living
at
her
parents’
home
because
of
marital
disputes,
according
to
the
complaint
filed
by
the
sister.
On
Monday
evening,
the
woman
visited
a
friend
in
Sector
23.
While
she
was
returning
late
at
night,
the
two
men
allegedly
approached
and
offered
a
lift
in
their
vehicle.

Police
said
the
men
did
not
drive
towards
the
woman’s
intended
destination.
Instead,
they
allegedly
took
the
van
in
the
direction
of
Gurugram
and
raped
the
woman
inside
the
moving
vehicle.
The
woman
was
able
to
call
the
sister,
who
then
reached
the
location
and
took
the
injured
woman
to
Badshah
Khan
Civil
Hospital
for
emergency
treatment.

Faridabad

Doctors
at
the
civil
hospital
reportedly
suggested
shifting
the
woman
to
Delhi
because
of
the
severity
of
the
head
injuries.
The
family,
however,
chose
a
private
medical
facility
within
Faridabad
for
further
treatment.
“My
sister
was
badly
injured
after
she
was
thrown
out
of
the
vehicle.
Considering
her
condition,
we
decided
to
admit
her
to
a
private
hospital,”
the
victim’s
sister
told
PTI.

Investigators
said
the
arrested
men
are
originally
from
Uttar
Pradesh
and
Madhya
Pradesh
and
are
currently
staying
in
Faridabad.
According
to
police,
the
two
are
strangers
to
the
woman,
and
any
prior
link
has
been
ruled
out
for
now.
Their
identities
will
be
officially
shared
after
the
court-directed
test
identification
parade
is
completed.

Medical
teams
have
described
the
woman’s
condition
as
critical,
and
police
officers
confirmed
that
doctors
still
consider
the
woman
unfit
to
give
a
detailed
statement.
For
now,
the
case
relies
on
the
sister’s
complaint,
medical
records,
and
the
seized
van,
while
