reported
that
four
deaths
were
linked
to
the
contaminated
water
issue.
The
outbreak
was
severe,
but
government
efforts
ensured
timely
treatment
for
many,
improving
their
condition.
“The
state
government
will
not
tolerate
any
negligence.
We
are
prepared
to
take
the
strictest
possible
action
against
those
responsible
for
the
incident,” he
stated.
Contaminated
Water
Investigation
The
health
of
approximately
40,000
residents
in
Bhagirthpura
was
screened.
Among
them,
2,456
suspected
cases
of
vomiting
and
diarrhoea
were
identified.
Currently,
162
patients
remain
hospitalised,
with
most
in
stable
condition.
Of
the
212
initially
admitted,
50
have
been
discharged
after
recovery.
Following
Yadav’s
directives,
a
zonal
officer
and
an
assistant
engineer
from
the
municipal
corporation
were
suspended
immediately.
Additionally,
an
in-charge
sub-engineer’s
services
were
terminated.
“Based
on
the
preliminary
inquiry,
action
has
been
taken
against
some
municipal
corporation
officials,” Yadav
mentioned.
Preventive
Measures
and
Future
Steps
A
leakage
was
discovered
in
the
main
water
supply
pipeline
in
Bhagirthpura,
where
a
toilet
had
been
constructed
over
it.
This
likely
led
to
water
contamination.
Officials
have
formed
a
three-member
committee
led
by
an
IAS
officer
to
investigate
further
into
this
incident.
Yadav
instructed
officials
to
thoroughly
examine
complaints
about
leaks
in
drinking
water
and
sewer
lines
across
the
city.
Necessary
measures
will
be
implemented
to
prevent
such
incidents
from
recurring.
New
appointments
will
address
staff
shortages
within
the
municipal
corporation.
The
chief
minister
emphasised
that
further
actions
would
depend
on
the
detailed
investigation
report.
“Further

taken
based

detailed
investigation
report,”
he
added.
