As a shopping writer and recipe developer, I spent most of 2025 testing kitchen gadgets. I’ll admit that many products never made it into my daily rotation, but there were a select few that impressed me far beyond what I expected. Read on to shop some of my favorite Amazon finds from the past year, including super absorbent kitchen towels, a glass water pitcher that filters out forever chemicals and parasites, and silicone oven mitts that are currently on sale.
Writer-Loved Kitchen Gear From 2025
Geometry Kitchen Tea Towels, Set of 2
Amazon
My mom gifted me a set of these Geometry towels, and while I was skeptical of the price at first, they’re easily the most absorbent kitchen towels I’ve ever used. Our editors also love Geometry, noting that the brand feels “immediately different upon the first touch, with a suede-like softness. Past that, it worked great to clean up all our messes, held a generous amount of liquid, and dried quickly, without any residual odor.”
AirHood Portable Range Hood 2
Amazon
Thanks to the AirHood 2, I can finally sear a steak over high heat without setting off my fire alarm. It’s given me a new level of confidence in the kitchen and the freedom to cook what I want, how I want. If you suffer from a similarly sensitive smoke alarm, I can’t recommend this clever gadget enough.
Beast Mighty 850 Plus Blender
Amazon
Since I already own a Vitamix blender, I didn’t think I would have much use for Beast’s personal blender. In fact, I had plans to give the set to my sister after I finished testing it. Well, it’s been almost a year, and it still has pride of place on my counter. With its fluted glass cups in three sizes, I find myself using it often to make pesto, vinaigrettes, and more. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised by how much I would love this blender, since it’s one of our favorite models at Food & Wine.
GIR Silicone Kitchen Utensils, Set of 5
Amazon
I’ve been a big fan of GIR’s silicone kitchen utensils for years. They’re impressively durable, heatproof up to 425°F, and dishwasher-safe. While I only own the spatula (in a few sizes), this set is a great option if your utensils could do with a refresh for 2026. It comes with a spatula, a spoonula, a spoon, a ladle, and a turner for almost every cooking or baking task you’ll encounter this year.
LifeStraw Glass 7-Cup Home Water Pitcher
Amazon
I was drawn to this water filter pitcher because it’s made out of glass, rather than the typical plastic. While the system takes a long time to filter out the bacteria, parasites, lead, microplastics, and other potentially harmful substances lurking in my water, I’m not bothered because peace of mind and a better taste are worth the wait. Refill it immediately after pouring, and its slow speed likely won’t bother you either.
Souper Cubes 1-Cup Silicone Freezer Molds, Set of 2
Amazon
Souper Cubes’ silicone freezer molds have changed my life, which is not an overstatement. Before I got these trays, I was freezing soup in plastic containers that regularly shattered when I placed them on my counter with too much force. Now, I can freeze soup in single servings, so I don’t have to defrost more than I need. I also use the smaller sizes to make ice cubes and store leftover herbs in oil.
Gorilla Grip Silicone Oven Mitts
Amazon
A few months ago, I finally made the transition from cloth oven mitts to silicone, and I’m so glad I did. I love how easy they are to clean when I accidentally dip them in an oily baking sheet. They also do an excellent job of protecting my forearms when they venture too close to a hot oven rack.
Zojirushi Micom 5.5-Cup Induction Rice Cooker
Amazon
I used a cheap rice cooker for years until Zojirushi sent me one of its models for testing a few months ago. Now that I’ve tried both versions, I see the appeal of buying a fancier model if you eat rice as often as I do. Not only does it make perfect rice every time — regardless of whether I’m using white, brown, or sticky — but it also makes quick work of steel cut oats and other grains. If space is an issue for you, there’s also a compact size for small kitchens.
