Mulakalacheruvu fake liquor case: Court sends Jogi brothers to 14-day judicial custody

Date:

The Tamballapalle court in Madanapalle division of Annamayya district on Tuesday remanded former Minister Jogi Ramesh and his brother Jogi Ramu, both accused in the Madanapalle, to 14 days’ judicial custody. The duo were produced before the court by the Excise police on a Prisoner Transit (PT) warrant.

Security around the court was tightened for a short span as several YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) cadres gathered on the premises, causing a brief commotion before the hearing. Following the remand orders, the Jogi brothers were immediately shifted to Nellore district jail.

The Excise department is probing into the illegal liquor manufacturing racket, in which the Jogi brothers are key suspects.
