In 2027, for the first time, Norwegian Cruise Lines is going to embark on a new cruise ship, the Norwegian Aura, which is going to be the biggest cruise ship in the company’s history, weighing in at 169,000 tons. This ship will be the biggest in the company’s fleet, surpassing the other two most recent large ships in the company’s fleet, the Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, and the Breakaway Plus ships. It is currently being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. It is planned to be the largest the company has ever built as part of the new draft of the company’s plans for cruise ships. After the Norwegian Aura, the company will build progressively bigger cruise ships after its new line is released in 2030. Before then, the Norwegian Aura is set to begin its first season in late May 2027 with tours of the Mediterranean.
