Emily Robb Shares ‘The Space Between Attack And Decay’ Soundtrack

Date:

Philly guitarist Emily Robb is an if-you-know-you-know underground treasure. When I asked Shop Regulars’ Matt Radosevich who he was spinning two years ago, Robb was his reply. She’s put out two albums of noisy, primitive shredding via Pretty Bunco, and today she releases something different.

Robb’s soundtrack for the short film The Space Between Attack And Decay is a bit more versatile than her main catalog. There’s some pretty acoustic music with delicate tremolo picking (“Shiny Sister Theme”) and some full-on rock band action (“Dance Music”), all of it recorded cleaner and brighter than Robb fans are accustomed to. I hope she never gives up messing around in the muck, but it’s cool to hear her pursuing this vision too. Check it out below.

Robb’s The Space Between Attack And Decay soundtrack is out now on Petty Bunco.
