MEIL receives safety excellence certificate from AP-Genco

POLAVARAM

Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), the executing agency of the Polavaram Hydro Electric Project, has achieved a significant safety milestone by completing 25 million man-hours without a single lost workday.

In recognition of this accomplishment, AP-Genco presented MEIL the prestigious Safety Excellence Certificate for maintaining exemplary safety standards throughout the project.

The certificate was handed over to MEIL Associate Manager Pragada Nanda Naga Krishna by AP-Genco Superintending Engineer K. Ramabhadra Raju on Wednesday.

MEIL, which began construction of the Polavaram Hydro Electric Project in 2020, has carried out critical civil and mechanical works of the power house with precision, ensuring uninterrupted progress. Rigorous safety protocols, continuous monitoring, and structured training for workers and technical staff contributed to the accident-free record.

MEIL General Manager Prasenjit Majumdar and Safety In-charge Sabyasachi Rana expressed pride in reaching the 25-million safe man-hours milestone, emphasising that the recognition reflects the company’s commitment to workforce protection on a complex, large-scale hydroelectric project.

AP-Genco SE K. Ramabhadra Raju praised MEIL’s disciplined and systematic approach, noting that all construction activities are progressing as per the approved plan. He highlighted that worker safety remains the top priority and expressed confidence that the same level of vigilance would continue until project completion.

This achievement underscores MEIL’s dedication to world-class safety, efficient project management, and responsible engineering, reinforcing its reputation as a leading infrastructure company capable of executing high-risk, high-value national projects professionally.
