- Popeyes has brought back its limited-time seafood lineup, including the Flounder Fish Sandwich, Butterfly Shrimp Tackle Box, and Surf & Turf basket.
- New dry rub flavors — garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, buffalo shrimp, and ghost pepper — add fresh spice options to shrimp orders.
- The fan-favorite fried pickles also return this season, rounding out Popeyes’ seafood offerings with a crunchy, herb-seasoned side.
Tired of paying $15 or more for a burrito bowl or a fast-casual salad? Sounds like it’s time to switch up your lunch routine.
Popeyes just relaunched its seafood menu for a limited time — and there’s plenty of hand-battered butterfly shrimp and fish fillets to go around. Starting today, you can swing by the Louisiana-style chain for Flounder Fish Sandwich, Butterfly Shrimp Tacklebox, Surf & Turf, and more. Plus, another fan-favorite crispy side hits menus today.
Let’s kick things off with Popeyes’ latest catch.
The Flounder Fish Sandwich, introduced in 2021, features a flaky flounder patty caught in Alaska. It’s sandwiched between two brioche buns and served with tartar or spicy sauce. You might also choose the Butterfly Shrimp Tackle Box, which includes eight pieces of crispy shrimp — plus a side and a biscuit. Popeyes recommends the Surf & Turf basket for added variety: four pieces of butterfly shrimp, two chicken tenders, a side, and a buttery biscuit.
If you’re more of a shrimp person, there are also brand-new flavor options. Four new dry rubs debut on the menu today: garlic parmesan, lemon pepper, buffalo shrimp, and ghost pepper. They’re all available as an upgrade for the Surf & Turf or Tacklebox orders or as a side.
Whether you’re a pescatarian, cutting out red meat for Lent, or simply searching for a new weekday lunch, Popeyes says it’s packing plenty of flavor into each seafood spin. While the Louisiana-based chain is best known for its thick-battered sandwiches and spicy tenders, fans say it’s hard to resist Popeyes’ on-brand approach to seafood. Each battered piece is coated with the brand’s signature blend of herbs and spices.
Ever since McDonald’s launched the Filet-O-Fish in 1962 — a response to the chain’s dip in sales around Lent, when some Christians opt to skip red meat on Fridays — fine-dining establishments and national chains alike have put their own spin on fish sandwiches in the spring. Across the board, Popeyes’ approach is especially well-loved for its Cajun flair and buttery brioche bun.
“The highly anticipated annual return of Popeyes’ fan-favorite seafood is here, with some new additions,” Bobby O’Brien, head chef of culinary innovation at Popeyes, tells Food & Wine. “These dry-rub additions deliver the same Popeyes flavor fans love from our wings, and we’re excited for Popeyes guests to enjoy this new twist on a brand classic.”

Alongside the relaunch of its seafood spread, Popeyes is resurrecting a fan-favorite side for spring. Fried pickles, which debuted last April as part of a limited-time menu, have drawn a following for their crunchy, golden-fried coating and signature blend of Popeyes herbs. They’re served with a side of ranch for dipping, dunking, and drizzling.
If you’ve been craving a crispy, Cajun-spiced switch-up, consider this your sign to hit the drive-thru. And at a time when lunch can easily top $15, Popeyes’ latest lineup might be the detour your wallet — and your taste buds — can get behind.
