Police convice man to give up bid to end life

The Markapuram police on Saturday (December 6) persuaded a 26-year-old man from Kanigiri village, who was reportedly going to end his life at a flyover, to give up the attempt. According to the police, the control room received an 112 alert in the morning that the man was heading towards the flyover and that he looked gloomy. Subsequently, Markapuram Circle Inspector P. Subba Rao and Markapuram rural police station Sub-Inspector Ankamma Rao reached the spot and convinced him to abandon the attempt. The police then handed him over to his family after counselling. Prakasam Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju congratulated the personnel for their alertness.
