One of the more controversial incidents and court cases pertaining to South Indian cinema is the rape case that was filed against Malayalam Star Hero, Dileep back in 2017. He was accused of participating in a gang rape, while also humiliating a female actress physically and mentally along with other charges.
The criminal case proceedings in this regard have been progressing for the last eight years before the final judgement arrived just this morning.
The judgement from the court acquits Dileep of all 6 charges filed against him including the rape allegation and physical abuse that were filed by another Malayali actress in 2017. This essentially means that he is proven not guilty in this case and has been cleared of all charges.
The Principal District and Sessions Court in Ernakulam has acquitted actor Dileep (A8) in the 2017 abduction and sexual assault case. Judge Honey M Varghese pronounced the verdict in open court today. The senior actor was cleared of all the allegations as the prosecution could not file adequate evidence against him.
“This was a conspiracy against me” Dileep said on the verdict acquitting him of all charges in 2017 actress assault case.
