AI Steps Out of the Screen at CES. These 5 Things Stopped Me in My Tracks

CES 2026 was massive, overwhelming—and occasionally odd. It wasn’t the big product launches that grabbed my attention, but the moments that made me stop and think, “Okay, that’s new.”

The 2026 show ran from January 6 to 9 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It sprawled across 13 venues, spanning roughly 2.6 million square feet, and featured more than 3,500 exhibitors. Attendance is expected to meet or exceed last year’s 142,465 participants.

CES often feels less like a hype parade of the latest tech, from robots to wearables. But this year, however, the technology on display showed what AI looks like when it moves from software to hardware.
