The blackbox of the ill fated Learjet-45 aircraft that crashed in Baramati killing Maharashtra deputy Chief Minister and four others has been recovered, according to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
“The investigation is progressing expeditiously. Ensuring a thorough, transparent, and time-bound inquiry remains a top priority. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) remains fully committed to completing the investigation within a defined timeframe,” a press statement from the Ministry on Thursday (January 29, 2026) said.
The Director General of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) along with three officials arrived in Baramati soon after the crash. Another team of three officers from Director General of Civil Aviation’s Mumbai regional office also reached the crash site.
