Al-Falah University Faridabad appointments: new vice chancellor and senior roles

Al-Falah University in Faridabad has made senior administrative appointments a day after IAS officer Amit K Aggarwal took charge as administrator. Ajay Ranga has been named vice chancellor, with Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh appointed Controller of Examinations and Ravi Kumar Sharma given finance duties. Meha Sharma becomes registrar amid ongoing scrutiny.

Al-Falah University in Faridabad has made key administrative appointments after IAS officer Amit K Aggarwal took charge as administrator. An official order on Thursday named Ajay Ranga as vice chancellor. The changes come as the university remains under legal, financial, and regulatory scrutiny linked to an ongoing terror financing probe.

The university has been under the scanner after alleged links surfaced to a case tied to the November 2025 Red Fort car blast. Investigators are still examining the campus, even as teaching has restarted. The situation has also raised concerns about the longer-term position of students and staff.

Al-Falah University administrator appoints Ajay Ranga as vice chancellor

According to the order, Ajay Ranga previously served as Registrar OSD-I at JC Bose University. The appointment was made a day after Amit K Aggarwal assumed the administrator’s role at Al-Falah University. The order also laid out a broader team to manage routine governance functions.

Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh has been appointed as the Controller of Examinations. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh earlier held the same role at JC Bose University. The order said the new officials would handle core academic and examination responsibilities through regular processes.

Al-Falah University assigns finance and registrar roles amid NIA probe

The post of Chief Finance and Accounts Officer has been assigned to Ravi Kumar Sharma. Ravi Kumar Sharma earlier worked as Chief Accounts Officer at the JC Bose University. Meha Sharma, who served as Deputy Registrar at JC Bose University, has been appointed as Al-Falah University’s Registrar.

For administrative support, Abhinav and Rajdeep have also been given responsibilities under the new set-up. Abhinav earlier worked as Deputy Superintendent at JC Bose University. Rajdeep earlier served as Assistant at JC Bose University. Both will handle administrative work assigned by the VC and Registrar.

“The day-to-day affairs of the University will be taken care of by these officials in the usual manner in the larger interest of the university,\” the order read. The direction indicated that regular operations should continue under the new team, while the wider inquiry remains active.

The university’s name came up during a probe into a white-collar terror module. More than 10 people, including three doctors, were arrested by the National Investigation Agency NIA and Jammu and Kashmir Police. Classes have resumed, but the continuing investigation has kept uncertainty around the campus.
