During

speech,

government
declared
December
26
as
Veer
Bal
Diwas
in
2022
to
honour
their
martyrdom.
For
three
years,
schools
have
taught
about
the
Sahibzadas’
lives
and
held
essay
competitions.
Shah
mentioned
that
all
states
observe
this
day
regardless
of
political
leadership.
Shah
expressed
gratitude
for
significant
anniversaries
during
Modi’s
tenure:
Guru
Nanak
Dev’s
550th
birth
anniversary,
Guru
Tegh
Bahadur’s
350th
martyrdom
anniversary,
and
Guru
Gobind
Singh’s
350th
birth
anniversary.
He
reiterated
that
the
government
has
worked
tirelessly
to
highlight
Sikh
traditions
globally.
Government
Initiatives
for
Sikh
Community
The
Union
home
minister
outlined
several
initiatives
for
the
Sikh
community.
These
include
granting
FCRA
registration
to
Amritsar’s
Golden
Temple,
opening
the
Kartarpur
corridor,
reopening
1984
anti-Sikh
riot
cases
for
justice,
providing
Rs
5
lakh
compensation,
and
granting
citizenship
to
Sikhs
from
Afghanistan,
Pakistan,
and
Bangladesh.
Shah
expressed
regret
over
Kartarpur
Sahib
Gurdwara
remaining
in
Pakistan
post-Partition
in
1947.
He
questioned
why
it
was
left
there
during
discussions
on
India’s
and
Pakistan’s
borders.
He
speculated
that
those
deciding
were
unaware
of
its
significance.
Honouring
Sikh
Gurus’
Sacrifices
Shah
elaborated
on
the
ten
Sikh
Gurus’
teachings
and
sacrifices
for
humanity
and
religion.
He
asserted
that
no
one
worldwide
can
match
their
sacrifices
for
humanity
and
India.

Sahibzadas,
he

their
refusal
to
bow
to
injustice
or
convert
despite
extreme
cruelty.

Mata
Gujri,
grandmother
of
the
Sahibzadas,
for
instilling
discipline
and
values
in

He
highlighted
Baba
Zorawar
Singh
and
Baba
Fateh
Singh’s
supreme
sacrifice
at
ages
nine
and
seven
as
a
testament
to
India’s
moral
strength.
Encouraging
Future
Generations
Shah
urged
Indians
to
share
the
Sahibzadas’
story
with
their
families,
especially
children.
He
believes
future
generations
will
be
ready

defend
India
during
crises.

Diwas
is

remembrance

an
opportunity
for
nation-building
by

Pandits
sought
his
help,
he

Shah
released
a
coffee
table
book
on
the
Sahibzadas’
sacrifices
and
Haryana’s
Vision
Document
2047.
He
also
distributed
appointment
letters
to
families
affected
by
the
1984
anti-Sikh
riots.
Shah
commended
Haryana
Chief
Minister
Nayab
Singh
Saini
for
providing
justice
and
employment
to
affected
Sikh
families.
The
Union
home
minister
acknowledged
the
Sikh
community’s
