Autocracy Machinery has introduced its Aquatic De-Weeder to aid Bengaluru’s lake rejuvenation efforts. This machine, designed and made in India, is tailored for removing aquatic weeds and waste from water bodies. It addresses challenges like shallow depths and sensitive ecosystems while maintaining high productivity and safety.
The initiative was supported by senior government officials, including Greater Bengaluru Authority’s Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao. The machine’s deployment aligns with environmental sustainability goals for urban lakes.
Aquatic De-Weeder: Key Features
The Aquatic De-Weeder boasts a storage capacity of 13 cubic metres, expandable to 16 cubic metres. It can handle payloads exceeding five tonnes. A 112 HP diesel engine powers the machine, which operates efficiently across various water conditions with a width of 4 to 6 metres.
Its low-draft design, reaching just 70 cm when empty, ensures stability in shallow waters. The dual-pontoon catamaran hull enhances manoeuvrability, making it ideal for Indian urban water bodies.
Advanced Technology for Efficiency
Equipped with fully hydraulic paddle-wheel propulsion, the machine offers live GPS tracking and integrated safety sensors. These features, along with operator-friendly controls, boost operational efficiency and reliability.
Autocracy Machinery’s statement highlighted the machine’s engineering to tackle continuous waste inflow while ensuring safe operation. This innovation supports Bengaluru’s environmental sustainability initiatives effectively.
The Aquatic De-Weeder represents a significant step in addressing urban water body challenges. Its advanced features and robust design make it a valuable asset for maintaining ecological balance in Bengaluru’s lakes.
