Beabadoobee Releases “All I Did Was Dream Of You” Featuring The Marías: Stream

Date:

Beabadoobee has returned with her first new single in two years.

A collaboration with L.A. pop band The Marías, “All I Did Was Dream Of You” is Beabadoobee’s first official release since 2024’s excellent This Is How Tomorrow Moves. And the pop experimentalist is clearly making up for lost time, as the single finds her expertly balancing ’90s shoegaze, earnest folk, and a smidgen of electronica to make us think we’re actually the one’s dreaming.

Check out the accompanying music video below, which was co-directed by Beabadoobee’s longtime collaborator Jake Erland and Lithuanian director AboveGround.

“All I Did Was Dream Of You” is technically Beabadoobee’s first original song in two years. Earlier this month, she contributed a cover of Elliott Smith’s “Say Yes” to HELP(2), a star-studded charity album benefiting the global children’s charity War Child UK.

The two-year wait for new Beabadoobee is a wee bit of a change for the London-based crooner. From 2018 to 2021, Beabadoobee released a maddening five EPs — Lice (2018), Patched Up (2018), Loveworm (2019), Space Cadet (2019), and Our Extended Play (2021) — as well as her debut LP, October 2020’s Fake It Flowers. Her follow-up album, Beatopia, dropped in mid-2022. But with Beabadoobee have recently signing a new deal with Dirty Hit and Interscope Records, news of album No. 4 could arrive sooner rather than later.
