Last year the Coen Brothers’ Southern dramedy O Brother, Where Art Thou? turned 25 years old, as did its equally-beloved, star-studded soundtrack. A lot of the stars featured on the soundtrack album, plus a few more, took over Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry Saturday night for a concert commemorating a quarter-century of O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Billy Strings didn’t play on the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack because he was only eight years old at the time, but he did join bluegrass veteran Dan Tyminski for “O Death.” Emmylou Harris and Alison Krauss reprised “Didn’t Leave Nobody But The Baby” with Molly Tuttle filling in for Gillian Welch, who sang in the film. Krauss also did “Down To The River To Pray,” while Tim Blake Nelson did “In the Jailhouse Now.” And, of course, Tyminski led a version of “I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow.” See some clips from the crowd below.
