The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (December 15, 2025) made Union Minister Piyush Goyal the poll in-charge of Tamil Nadu and put Lok Sabha MP Baijayant Panda in charge of its campaign in Assam.
An earlier notification had said that Mr. Panda would handle Tamil Nadu, but he has been replaced by Mr. Goyal and given charge of Assam, where he had been the in-charge during the 2021 polls. Mr. Goyal has experience in handling Tamil Nadu having facilitated the BJP-AIADMK alliance before the 2019 elections.
Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Muralidhar Mohol have been appointed as co-in-charge with Mr. Goyal. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Leader of Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, and Darshana Ben Jardosh, former Union Minister, are co-in-charge of Assam.
