in

southern
markets,
Chennai

50
per
cent
overall
occupancy,

by

Bengaluru
and
Hyderabad
followed
with
steady
gains
as
the
day
wore
on.
Western
centres
such
as
Mumbai,
Pune
and
Ahmedabad
reported
moderate
openings,
though
night
shows
contributed
the
bulk
of
their
collections.
Jaipur
and
Kolkata
surprised
on
the
upside
with
strong
occupancies,
while
Surat
remained
relatively
weak.

Gave
the
Film
a
Clear
Boost

clearly
found
its
audience
was
in
4DX.
The
premium
format
clocked
an
impressive
36.25
per
cent
overall
Hindi
occupancy,
with
shows
filling
up
rapidly
after
sunset.
Hyderabad
led
the
charge,
registering
over
76
per
cent
occupancy,
while
Mumbai,
Chandigarh
and
Jaipur
also
performed
strongly.
The
response
suggests
that
viewers
looking
for
a
more
immersive
experience
turned
up
in
good
numbers,
particularly
in
urban
markets.
IMAX
2D
and
Dolby
Cinema,
however,
stayed
on
the
slower
side.
Occupancies
remained
low
for
most
of
the
day,
improving
only
marginally
during
night
shows.
Chennai

again
fared
better
than
other
centres
in
IMAX,
while
Bengaluru
reported
limited
traction.
Budget
and
Weekend
Outlook
Mounted
on
a
large-scale
budget
reportedly
exceeding
₹200
crore,
Border
2
needs
sustained
momentum
to
stay
on
track.
The
early
signs,
though
mixed,
are
not
discouraging.
The
strong
performance
in
night
shows,
solid
response
in
select
regions,
and
the
clear
uptick
in
4DX
indicate
that
audience
interest
is
building
rather
than
fading.
With
Saturday
evening
and
Sunday
still
to
come,
Border
2
is
well-placed
to
register
better
numbers
over
the
weekend.
If
footfalls
continue
to
rise
and
word
of
mouth
remains
stable,
the
film
could
close
its
opening
weekend
on
a
reasonably
strong
note.
