Casey Wasserman to Sell Agency Following Exodus Over Ghislaine Maxwell Texts

Date:

Casey Wasserman has announced plans to sell his talent agency, the Wasserman Group, after an increasing number of clients began cutting ties following his name’s appearance in the latest batch of Epstein-related documents.

“At this moment, I believe that I have become a distraction,” Wasserman wrote in a memo sent to his company late Friday night. “That is why I have begun the process of selling the company.”

As we outlined earlier this week, the controversy centers on a series of recently divulged emails between Wasserman and Epstein associate/convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. While Wasserman has not been accused of any criminal activity, and he claimed the texts were sent before Maxwell’s crimes were known, their mere existence were enough to prompt numerous artists including Chappell Roan, Dropkick Murphys, and Orville Peck to sever ties with the Wasserman Group.

Beyond his involvement in talent representation, Wasserman serves as the chairman of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In Friday’s memo, he said he will “now devote my full attention to delivering Los Angeles an Olympic Games in 2028 that is worthy of this outstanding city.”
