Taking serious exception to United State of America’s ‘attack’ on Venezuela’s sovereignty, leaders and cadres of the Communist Party of India (CPI), led by national executive committee member K. Narayana, burnt the effigy of American President Donald trump in a symbolic gesture of condemning American imperialism in the ‘Bhogi’ bonfire on Tuesday.
Mr. Narayana, who is also the chairman of the party’s National Control Commission, flayed Donald Trump for the latter’s ‘war mongering’ nature. He said such a hawkish stance against the elected representative of a neighbouring nation would mark USA as a bully and an ‘irritant’ for the entire world.
The CPI leader also demanded the Indian government to shed its silence and condemn USA’s attack on Venezuela’s sovereignty. CPI district president P. Murali, district secretariat members Chinnam Penchalaiah, J. Viswanath, joint secretary T. Janardhan and others took part.
