Instant cameras, which print photographs immediately after capture onto -sized film, have maintained steady demand in India despite smartphone dominance. The format appeals particularly to younger users who value physical photographs for decoration, gifting and social sharing.

Instax mini 13 design and colour options

The camera body features a rounded three-dimensional form that Fujifilm describes as pop-inspired. A metallic silver logo sits on the front panel, while the sides carry a band-wrapped design with additional branding.

Five translucent pastel colours are available: Dreamy Purple, Candy Pink, Frost Blue, Lagoon Green and Clay White. The design positions the camera as a accessory as much as a photographic tool.

Operation remains straightforward. Users turn the lens barrel to power on the camera, frame their subject through the viewfinder and press the shutter button. The camera automatically adjusts exposure for the ambient lighting conditions.

New film variant launched alongside camera

Fujifilm has simultaneously released a new instax mini format film called Pastel Galaxy, priced at ₹899 for a pack. The film features gradient colour effects on the print border, adding a decorative element to photographs.

Koji Wada, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said the launch aimed to make instant photography more accessible. “With the launch of the instax mini 13, we aim to make instant photography more accessible, stylish and enjoyable for today’s generation,” Wada said in a statement.

Instax mini 13 Pricing

At ₹10,999, the instax mini 13 sits at the entry level of Fujifilm’s instant camera range. The instax mini series uses the company’s smallest film format, producing prints measuring 86 millimetres by 54 millimetres with an image area of 62 millimetres by 46 millimetres.

Running costs include film purchases, with each exposure adding approximately ₹90 to the cost of photography depending on pack size and retailer pricing. Users must factor in ongoing film expenses when comparing instant cameras to smartphone photography.
