India Post is set to launch its new premium express delivery service, ’24 Speed Post’, from March 17, 2026, offering guaranteed faster delivery for urgent documents and parcels across six major metropolitan cities.

Indian Post 24 Hour Delivery

India Post launches its premium ’24 Speed Post’ service on March 17, 2026, offering guaranteed next-day (D+1) delivery across six major cities with features like OTP-based secure delivery and a money-back guarantee.

The Department of Posts said the new service is aimed at improving time-bound delivery for customers who need quicker and more reliable movement of consignments, while also introducing secure delivery and business-focused logistics features.

Launch to Be Led by Jyotiraditya Scindia in New Delhi

The new service will be formally launched on March 17, 2026, by Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, along with Minister of State for Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, in New Delhi.

With this rollout, the Department of Posts is strengthening its premium delivery network and positioning India Post as a more competitive option for urgent shipments in key metro corridors.

Assured D+1 and D+2 Delivery Across Six Major Cities

Under the new offering, 24 Speed Post will provide next-day guaranteed delivery (D+1) for time-sensitive consignments. Alongside it, the Department of Posts will also introduce 48 Speed Post, which will assure delivery within two days (D+2).

In the first phase, the service will be available in six major cities:

  • Delhi
  • Mumbai
  • Chennai
  • Kolkata
  • Bengaluru
  • Hyderabad

The Department of Posts said dedicated processing windows and priority air transmission will be used to ensure faster movement of consignments between these urban centres.

OTP Delivery, Tracking Alerts and Business-Friendly Features Added

India Post has also packed the new service with several features designed to improve reliability and convenience for both individual and enterprise customers.

A key addition is OTP-based secure delivery, which will provide an extra verification layer when the parcel is handed over. Customers will also get end-to-end tracking with SMS alerts, allowing them to monitor the status of their shipment throughout transit.

For business users, the service will offer:

  • Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options
  • Free pickup for bulk shipments
  • API integration
  • Centralised billing systems

These features are expected to help enterprises manage regular parcel dispatches more efficiently and streamline logistics operations.

Money-Back Guarantee if Delivery Deadline Is Missed

To boost confidence in the new premium service, the Department of Posts has also announced a money-back guarantee in case a parcel is not delivered within the promised timeline.

This refund assurance is likely to appeal to customers sending urgent documents, official papers, and important packages where delivery speed is critical.

With the launch of 24 Speed Post, India Post is taking a significant step towards modernising its express logistics services, with a sharper focus on speed, accountability and secure delivery in India’s biggest metro markets.
