Though the couple tend to keep their romance private, they first met as teens while attending Crossroads School, a private school in Santa Monica, Calif. However, they didn’t strike up a romantic relationship until reconnecting at a mutual friend’s birthday party 15 years later.
“We would cross paths, and I had a girlfriend, and she had a boyfriend and it was just a little talking here and there. And then that day came when neither of us had a significant other,” Jack recalled during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast in August 2024. “She came up to me and said, ‘Hey, do you ever wanna go get dinner? I should give you my number.’ I was like, oh my God. Heaven opened up above my head, because it was like, this is the thing that I would always want to happen.”
Just a year later, Jack and Tanya tied the knot in Big Sur, Calif., in 2006. They welcomed son Samuel in June of that year, and son Thomas followed in 2008.
“We started getting very serious, and the relationship hit the ground running,” Jack shared on the podcast. “It’s like we were making up for lost time.”
