Jennifer Meyer is looking on the bright side of her divorce from Tobey Maguire.
The jewelry designer, who was married to the Spider-Man star from 2007 to 2020, reflected on navigating their 2016 separation while raising their kids Ruby, 19, and Otis, 16.
“Our daughter was 10 or something,” she said on the Dec. 1 episode of the Inside Edit podcast. “Those are some intense times that you need to stay connected. And then we had a son who was 7. You’re raising kids at an intense time.”
While the 48-year-old—who announced her engagement to Geoffrey Ogunlesi in August 2024—noted that she “got lucky” with how “wonderful” Tobey, 50, is, she emphasized that establishing an amicable rapport with her ex took work.
“It was not easy every day, and I’m sure he would say the same thing, 100 percent,” she continued, “and we definitely had to overcome some big hurdles.”
