Jana Sena Party has intensified its review meetings across Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts to assess its strength ahead of the local body elections, which are likely to be held in a few months. The party which won Nellimarla Assembly seat in 2024 general elections is hopeful of opening its account in the municipal, ZPTC and MPTC elections, in alliance with its partners such as The Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party.
Senior leaders met recently in Saripalli of Vizianagaram district to assess the party’s ground-level situation and the potential of enthusiastic leaders who want to contest local body elections. Speaking to The Hindu, YSRCP senior leader Avanapu Vikram said that JSP President and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s clean image and developmental activities of the NDA government would ensure decent victories for the party in the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation and other local body elections. Mr. Vikram, son of former Municipal Chairman Avanapu Suribabu, said that the party had a good network in all 50 divisions of the Vizianagaram Corporation.
Srikakulam Urban Development Authority Chairman Korikana Ravi Kumar, JSP United Srikakulam District president Pisini Chandramohan, JSP-Etcherla in-charge Syed Vishwaksen and other leaders focused on Srikakulam local body elections.
Mr.Vishwaksen said that many former local leaders from Ranasthalam, Etcherla and other mandals were keen to contest the elections.
The party is also focusing on strengthening its coordination with its alliance partner TDP since differences have cropped up between leaders of both parties in places like Nellimarla, Denkada and other places in Vizianagaram district. Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi said said that the JSP was trying to have cordial relations with TDP leaders at ground level.
