Julio Iglesias Accused Of Sexual Assault By Former Employees

Date:

Julio Iglesias has been accused of sexual assault by two women. The alleged assaults took place while they were live-in employees at the Spanish singer’s Caribbean mansions in 2021.

A domestic worker claims she was pressured into having sex with Iglesias, detailing acts of physical and verbal abuse. A physiotherapist alleges she was subjected to inappropriate touching, insults, humiliation, and constant harassment.

The allegations were published today following a joint investigation by the Spanish newspaper elDiario.es and Univision television. One of the women — who goes by the placeholder name Rebeca — said, “He used me almost every night. I felt like an object, like a slave.”

Laura — also a placeholder name — said that Iglesias kissed her on the mouth and touched her breasts against her will.

The woman Rebeca identified as her first supervisor at the Punta Cana mansion dismissed her allegations as “nonsense,” saying she had only “gratitude, admiration, and respect for the great artist and human being that he is,” adding that Iglesias is “humble, generous, a great gentleman, and very respectful to all women.”

Preliminary criminal investigation proceedings have been initiated, according to a statement from a prosecution spokesman at the Spanish National Court.
