Logan Paul splits with Jake over halftime show boycott

Date:

Logan Paul publicly distanced himself from his brother Jake Paul after Jake called for a boycott of Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show, sparking renewed debate over the performance and its cultural importance.

The disagreement marked a rare public rift between the high-profile brothers and shifted attention toward their contrasting views on representation and inclusion.

Earlier, Jake Paul had urged viewers to switch off the halftime show, accusing Bad Bunny of being anti-American and questioning his citizenship while linking the performance to broader political narratives.

His remarks triggered widespread backlash online, particularly given Bad Bunny’s identity as a Puerto Rican artist and a US citizen.

Responding on X, Logan Paul rejected his brother’s characterization and voiced support for Puerto Rican representation on one of the world’s biggest stages. “I love my brother, but I don’t agree with this. Puerto Ricans are Americans, and I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island,” he wrote.

Logan’s comments reframed the controversy, drawing a clear contrast with Jake’s call for a coordinated blackout of the show. Jake had earlier posted that viewers should “purposefully turn off the halftime show” to protest what he described as corporate overreach tied to viewership and influence.

While Jake Paul’s statements faced criticism from multiple corners of social media, Logan Paul’s response drew particular attention because of their close personal relationship.

Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance itself marked a historic moment as the first show delivered entirely in Spanish, a milestone widely praised by supporters as a reflection of the NFL’s increasingly global and diverse audience.
