A Missouri woman said no one showed up to her daughter’s first birthday party — so her local community stepped in to help.

Tyashia Wills of Kansas City posted a video on TikTok on Jan. 15, in which she explained that she had invited nearly 30 people to her daughter Camille’s first birthday party and spent “hours” setting up the party all on her own at a rented venue.

However, the mom of two said almost no one showed up to the party, and the few who did arrived hours too late.

“It started getting later and later and later … and my heart broke. It broke,” she said while recalling the moment she realized “no one was coming.”

The series of videos ultimately received millions of interactions, and members of the Kansas City community banded together to throw a new party for Camille — complete with balloon arches and face paintings.

While speaking to local news outlet KCTV 5, Preston Hopkins, one of the people who helped organize the party, said he did so because he wanted to help bring positivity to his community.

“If I can be that one person to start the momentum for good things in Kansas City and for good things to come out of Kansas City, I’m the anchor, and I’m starting it,” he explained. “So let’s get the ball rolling on positivity and love and community.”

Wills posted a video from the community-organized party in a TikTok post shared on Jan. 18.

“I love yall for loving my baby,” she wrote in the post’s caption, adding, “THANK YOU wherever you are in the world.”

“I know everything is scary and ugly right now but with us not being able to control that we can hug our babies tight because a lot of parents can’t do that we can call and check on our friends and family more because it doesn’t take much and we can still show up with free will,” she continued.

“🩷🫶🏾 #worldwide family,” she concluded her post.
