Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is facing a scary health journey.
The Jersey Shore alum shared that after years of receiving abnormal pap smear results—which led to closer monitoring by her physicians—further testing through a colposcopy and biopsy revealed her cervix has cancerous cells.
“Results come back,” she said in her Jan. 21 TikTok video detailing her experience. “Doctor calls me and he’s like, ‘Not looking great.’ He found cancerous cells on the top of my cervix.”
Polizzi noted she will need to have an additional cone biopsy under anesthesia for further testing, but though she feels “terrified,” she is focused on getting answers.
“It’s scary,” she said, “but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about.”
Part of the reason Polizzi decided to share her journey so far, is because she initially “waited” on scheduling her appointments out of stress.
“So ladies, stay on your appointments is basically what this video is about,” the 38-year-old said, “because we’re talking the future. If now this biopsy comes back, not great, the next step would be a hysterectomy.”
