The actor had appeared in the interview alongside her husband, producer-actor Jackky Bhagnani. The conversation itself was meant to be light-hearted and personal, with the couple opening up about their relationship journey – from their first meeting to their wedding.

During the interaction, the couple shared amusing and candid anecdotes. One of the most talked-about moments in the interview was Rakul recalling how they first met during the Covid-19 lockdown while she was trying to arrange a bottle of alcohol for her brother. Jackky also revealed that the first time he confessed his feelings to her, he simply said, “I’m scared,” a moment that left both of them laughing as they narrated it.

What has disturbed many observers is the timing and tone of these posts. Some users pointed out that the clips were widely circulated on International Women’s Day, prompting criticism about the mindset behind amplifying such content. While some people mocked the actor online, others defended her and questioned why such moments were being deliberately highlighted.

Following the online buzz, the wardrobe malfunction portions were reportedly blurred in the original interview video. By then, however, the clips had already spread widely across social media platforms.

The controversy has also sparked debate about accountability behind the camera. Some users have questioned how such moments made it into the final cut of the interview in the first place, raising concerns about whether videographers and editors should be more careful when filming and publishing content involving female actors.

The issue echoes concerns raised recently by Sapthami Gowda, the actor known for her role in Kantara. She had publicly criticised photographers and videographers for capturing female celebrities from inappropriate angles at public events. In a note shared on Instagram, she wrote that repeated zoom-ins on actors’ bodies divert attention away from their work and reduce them to objects of scrutiny.

Against this backdrop, some fans of Rakul have argued that the current wave of posts targeting her appears less like casual gossip and more like a coordinated attempt to embarrass or shame the actor.

Whether intentional or accidental, the incident has once again highlighted a larger issue within celebrity culture – how quickly moments of vulnerability can be turned into viral content, often overshadowing the actual conversation or achievements of the person involved.
