Jaishankar,
seeking
urgent
diplomatic
intervention
for
the
rescue
and
repatriation
of
27
Indian
nationals
stranded
in
Myanmar,
following
which
swift
action
was
taken
by
the
Ministry
of
External
Affairs
and
the
Embassy
of
India
in
Yangon,
leading
to
the
safe
return
of
the
affected
citizens
to
India
today.
Shri

requested
Hon’ble
Minister
of
External
Affairs,
Dr.
S.
Jaishankar,
to
intervene
for
the
rescue
of
27
Indian
nationals
stranded
in
Myanmar,
after
which
the
Ministry
of
External
Affairs
and
the
Embassy
of
India
in
Yangon
ensured
their
safe
return
to
India
from
the
Myanmar
border.
In
his
letter,
Shri
Ram
Mohan
Naidu
had
highlighted
the
plight
of
Indian
citizens
who
were
lured
abroad
on
false
job
promises
and
subsequently
trafficked
to
the
Myanmar
border,
where
they
were
subjected
to
coercion,
physical
abuse
and
forced
cyber
scam
operations.
He
urged
the
Ministry
of
External
Affairs
to
activate
all
diplomatic
channels
to
secure
their
immediate
rescue
and
repatriation.
Responding
promptly,
the
Ministry
of
External
Affairs,
through
the
Embassy
of
India
in
Yangon
and
in
coordination
with
concerned
authorities,
undertook
sustained
efforts
that
led
to
the
release
of
the
affected
Indians
and
their
safe
evacuation
to
New
Delhi.
The
rescued
nationals
arrived
in
Delhi
earlier
today
and
are
now
proceeding
onward
to
their
respective
native
places
to
reunite
with
their
families.
