today,
the
national
capital
remains
under
a
heightened
security
cover
with
extensive
checks
and
surveillance
in
place
across
Delhi
and
the
National
Capital
Region.

Delhi-NCR Tight Security

On
India’s
77th
Republic
Day,
Delhi
and
the
National
Capital
Region
are
under
heightened
security
with
extensive
checks,
surveillance,
and
deployment
of
over
70,000
security
personnel,
including
paramilitary
forces
and
intelligence
units,
to
ensure
smooth
celebrations.

Authorities
have
activated
a
multi-layered
security
framework
to
ensure
the
day-long
celebrations
proceed
smoothly
and
without
any
untoward
incident.

Border
Entry
Points
Sealed
With
Intensive
Vehicle
Checks

From
early
morning,
police
teams
have
been
conducting
strict
vehicle
inspections
at
all
major
entry
points
into
Delhi.
Security
checks
are
underway
at
borders
including
Gurugram,
Chilla,
Tikri,
Singhu,
Kapashera,
Badarpur
and
Dhaula
Kuan,
with
personnel
stopping
and
inspecting
vehicles
entering
the
city.

including
near
the
Lajpat
Nagar
Metro
Station,
show
intensified
checking
as
authorities
closely
monitor
movement
across
the
capital.
Officials
said
these
measures
are
aimed
at
preventing
unauthorised
entry
and
maintaining
strict
control
over
vehicular
traffic
on
Republic
Day.

Massive
Security
Deployment
Across
Delhi-NCR

The
Delhi
Police
has
deployed
around
10,000
personnel
in
the
New
Delhi
area,
while
more
than
70,000
security
personnel
from
multiple
agencies
are
stationed
across
Delhi-NCR.
This
includes
paramilitary
forces,
NSG
commandos,
intelligence
units,
anti-terror
squads,
dog
squads,
bomb
detection
teams
and
quick
reaction
forces.

Advanced
surveillance
systems
are
actively
in
use
today,
including
AI-enabled
smart
glasses,
anti-drone
technology
and
thousands
of
CCTV
cameras
installed
across
sensitive
zones.
Integrated
command
and
control
centres
are
monitoring
over
1,000
live
CCTV
feeds
to
ensure
seamless
coordination
and
rapid
response
to
any
emergency.

High-alert
security
arrangements
are
in
force
along
the
Republic
Day
parade
route,
government
buildings,
diplomatic
areas,
transport
hubs
and
border
entry
points
from
neighbouring
NCR
cities.

Zero
Tolerance
for
Disruptions
and
Public
Property
Damage

Authorities
have
enforced
strict
instructions
against
graffiti,
vandalism
or
defacement
of
public
property.
Special
night
patrols
and
day-long
surveillance
are
monitoring
flyovers,
walls,
government
installations
and
other
sensitive
locations
to
prevent
any
anti-national
or
disruptive
activities.

Police
teams
have
been
directed
to
take
immediate
legal
action
against
anyone
attempting
to
disturb
public
order
or
display
objectionable
material
during
Republic
Day
celebrations.

Unattended
Vehicles,
Drones
and
Transit
Hubs
Under
Watch

Unattended
and
illegally
parked
vehicles
are
being
treated
as
a
major
security
concern
today.
Parking
restrictions
remain
in
force
near
high-security
zones,
and
any
unattended
vehicle
is
being
considered
suspicious,
with
bomb
squads
instructed
to
respond
without
delay.

Anti-drone
systems
have
been
deployed
around
the
Republic
Day
parade
venue
and
other
sensitive
areas,
and
the
flying
of
unauthorised
drones
is
completely
banned.
Security
checks
have
also
been
intensified
at
metro
stations,
airports,
railway
stations
and
bus
terminals,
with
enhanced
frisking
and
baggage
screening.

Police
have
appealed
to
citizens
to
cooperate
with
security
personnel
and
report
any
suspicious
activity,
abandoned
objects
or
unusual
behaviour.
Officials
said
public
vigilance
remains
a
critical
component
of
the
overall
security
plan
as
the
country
marks
Republic
Day
with
pride
and
national
unity.
