Rs 50 Mn Deal Alert! This IT Company Enters High-Growth Auto Semiconductor Space; Here’s What It Means

Date:

On Wednesday, December 24, Blue Cloud Softech Solutions Ltd (BCSSL) announced that it and ConnectM Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, an expert in automotive electronics and hardware systems, had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the cooperative development of a semiconductor-based EdgeAI System-on-Chip (SoC) with an emphasis on next-generation automotive cybersecurity applications.

In accordance with the terms of the MoU, BCSSL will take the lead in the architecture, design, and development of a cutting-edge EdgeAI SoC platform that incorporates continuous security management, intrusion prevention, and real-time threat detection. The semiconductor technology is being developed specifically for use in Vehicle Control Units (VCUs), Telematics Control Units (TCUs), and other key electronic components found in software-defined, connected, and electric vehicles.

Combining ConnectM’s expertise in automotive-grade hardware, diagnostics, and OEM integration with BCSSL’s extensive experience in cybersecurity software, artificial intelligence, and secure systems, the partnership is a strategic move in BCSSL’s growth into automotive semiconductor development. The key intellectual property pertaining to the semiconductor design and cybersecurity technologies will be controlled by BCSSL, while the EdgeAI SoC will only be tailored for ConnectM’s onboard automotive hardware platforms.

Following appropriate costs and taxes, the MoU specifies a revenue-sharing scheme that divides net revenues from joint commercialization equally, 50:50. The cooperation is anticipated to produce a projected business volume of around USD 50 million over a five-year period from 2026 to 2030, subject to the signing of official agreements.

The jointly developed EdgeAI semiconductor solutions will be designed to meet applicable international and Indian regulatory requirements as well as global automobile security and cybersecurity standards. This ensures that the SoC platforms are certified, ready for manufacturing, and appropriate for use in international automotive markets.

Sri Tejesh Kumar Kodali, Group Chairman of BCSSL, stated that “This semiconductor development partnership marks a significant milestone for Blue Cloud Softech Solutions as we expand our capabilities into EdgeAI System-on-Chip platforms for automotive cybersecurity. By collaborating with ConnectM, we are combining advanced cybersecurity intelligence with automotive-grade hardware to build secure, future-ready solutions that meet the demands of next-generation mobility.”

From a strategic standpoint, the MoU puts both companies in a position to provide secure, scalable, and automotive-grade semiconductor solutions that tackle the mounting cybersecurity issues associated with connected and electric vehicles. The partnership seeks to strengthen cybersecurity resilience throughout the rapidly evolving mobility ecosystem by accelerating time-to-market and facilitating OEM-ready installations.

Following the above announcement, the shares of Blue Cloud Softech Solutions surged 2.9% during the early trade by reaching an intraday high of Rs 25.20 apiece from the previous close. The stock opened today on the BSE at Rs 24.69 and while the article was written, the stock was trading with an upside gap of 2.00% at Rs 24.97 per share whereas the market cap was Rs 1,089.40 Cr.
