SCR to run special trains in view of Sankranti rush

To clear the extra rush of passengers during Sankranti festival, South Central Railway (SCR) is operating special trains from various destinations.

Train no. 07480 Cherlapalli-Kakinada Town will depart from Cherlapalli at 10 a.m. on January 19 and reach Kakinada Town at 9.30 p.m. on the same day. Train no. 07481 Kakinada Town-Cherlapalli will depart at 11.15 p.m. on January 19 and reach the destination at 11.45 a.m. on the next day.

The special trains will stop at Nalgonda, Miryalguda, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle, Guntur, Vijayawada, Kakaluru, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Rajahmundry and Samalkot stations in both the directions.

Train no. 07482 Cherlapalli-Tirupati will depart from Cherlapalli at 4 a.m. on January 18 and reach Tirupati at 7 p.m. on the same day. Train no. 07483 Tirupati-Cherlapalli will leave Tirupati at 12.50 p.m. on January 18 and reach the destination at 11.45 a.m. on the next day.

The special trains will halt at Jangoan, Kazipet, Warangal, Kesamudram, Mahabubabad, Dornakal, Khammam, Madhira, Vijayawada, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Venkatagiri, Srikalahasti and Renigunta stations in both the directions.

The special trains will consist of first AC, second AC, AC II Tier, AC III Tier, sleeper class and general second class coaches, said SCR Vijayawada Division public relations officer Nusrat M. Mandrupkar.

Train no. 07479 Anakapalli-Cherlapalli will depart Anakapalli at 10.30 p.m. on January 18 and reach Cherlapalli at 11.30 a.m. on the next day. Train no. 07477 Cherlapalli-Anakapalli will depart at 12.40 a.m. on January 19 and reach the destination at 9 p.m. on the same day. Train no. 07478 Anakapalli-Cherlapalli will depart at 10.30 p.m. on January 19 and reach Cherlapalli at 11.30 a.m. on the next day.

Special trains 07477 and 07478 will stop at Nalgonda, Miryalguda, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle, Guntur, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikalur, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Tuni and Elamanchili stations, and consists of AC 2 tier, AC 3 tier, sleeper and general coaches.

Janasadharan special trains

SCR is also operating Janasadharan unreserved special trains between Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.

Train no. 08567 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada will be operated on January 14, 16, 17 and 18. Train no. 08568 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam will run on January 14, 16, 17 and 18. The Janasadharan special trains will halt at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Elamamchili, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Nidadavolu, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Gannavaram and Vijayawada stations in both the directions.

Similarly, Train no. 07475 Hyderabad-Vijayawada will leave Hyderabad on January 18 and 19 at 6.10 a.m. and reach the destination at 1.40 p.m. on the same day. Train no. 07476 Vijayawada-Hyderabad will depart at 2.40 p.m. on January 17 and 19 and reach the destination at 10.35 p.m. on the same day.

These special trains will halt at Secunderabad, Cherlapalli, Bhongir, Jangoan, Ghanpur, Kazipet, Warangal, Nekonda, Kesamudram, Mahabubabad, Dornakal, Khammam and Madhira stations in both the directions, said SCR Chief Public Relations Officer A. Sridhar.

Meanwhile, SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, who reviewed the handling of Sankranti festival rush, directed the officers to focus on crowd management at railway stations and onboarding of trains. Mr. Srivastava instructed the field supervisors to be vigilant at the booking counters and deploy Railway Protection Force for the safety of passengers at the stations.
