A young man was injured when he was shot at by two unidentified miscreants, at Halasangi village in Vijayapura district on Monday.
The miscreants reportedly robbed a jewellery shop at gun-point and were escap with around 205 gm of gold. They threatened Maharudra Kanchangar and his father Sadashiv Kanchangar.
When Basanna Galgali, a boy in a shop opposite the jewellery store, began recording the heist on his mobile phone, the thieves shot at him. He suffered an injury on his leg.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is stable. Police officers have visited the scene and are investigating.
SP Laxman Nimbargi said a FIR was yet to be filed. Police teams have been formed to investigate the crime.
