Udan Yatri Café inaugurated at Thiruvananthapuram airport

Date:

Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Friday e-inaugurated the Udan Yatri Café at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and digitally launched the DigiYatra facility at the airport. The café, located in the pre-check-in departures area, offers snacks and beverages starting at ₹10, providing passengers with low-cost refreshment options.

The initiative aligns with the government’s objective of enhancing affordability in aviation and complements the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) regional connectivity programme. DigiYatra, which uses facial recognition technology, enables contactless and paperless movement through airport checkpoints. Thiruvananthapuram began pilot operations of the platform in June 2024, and by January 2026, 24,700 domestic passengers used the platform, representing 21 per cent adoption.
