his
government
had
restored
order
in
the
state,
contrasting
it
with
what
was
described
as
lawlessness
under
the
Samajwadi
Party
government,
and
also
announced
that
Noida
International
Airport
at
Jewar
was
expected
to
begin
operations
in
January
as
the
state’s
fifth
international
airport.
Speaking
during
a
discussion
on
the
supplementary
budget
on
the
last
day
of
the
winter
session,
Yogi
Adityanath
said
there
were
now
no
curfews
or
riots
in
Uttar
Pradesh,
and
argued
that
voters
understood
which
leadership
ended
what
was
described
as
chaos
and
an
identity
crisis
that
existed
before
2017.

Jewar,
is
expected
to
start
operations
in
January
and
highlighted
infrastructure
developments,
including
expressways
and
operational
airports,
while
criticizing
the
Samajwadi
Party
government’s
approach
to
law
and
order
since
2017.
Uttar
Pradesh

and
Yogi
Adityanath’s
claims
On
infrastructure,
Yogi
Adityanath
said
Noida
International
Airport
at
Jewar
was
likely
to
start
flights
next
month,
adding
that
it
would
become
Uttar
Pradesh’s
fifth
international
airport
and
part
of
a
wider
shift
over
eight
years
and
nine
months
in
development,
identity
and
dignity
that,
according
to
the
chief
minister,
had
changed
the
state’s
image.
The
chief
minister
compared
transport
facilities
before
and
after
2017,
stating
that
Uttar
Pradesh
earlier
had
“only
one
and
a
half
expressways”
but
now
had
22,
and
claimed
the
state
currently
had
the
largest
railway
network
in
India,
while
air
connectivity
had
grown
from
two
fully
functional
and
two
partially
functional
airports
to
16
operational
airports,
including
four
international
airports.
Yogi
Adityanath
also
highlighted
plans
to
extend
the
Varanasi-Haldia
waterway
to
Prayagraj,
Ballia
and
Ayodhya,
saying
these
projects
showed
what
he
described
as
strong
political
will
and
commitment,
and
linked
these
transport
corridors
with
the
broader
claim
that
Uttar
Pradesh
had
undergone
what
the
chief
minister
called
a
decisive
transformation
since
2017.

SP
Turning
to
politics,
Yogi
Adityanath
said
the
Samajwadi
Party
would
“have
to
wait
till
2047
to
come
to
power
in
UP”
and
added,
“We
have
to
see
if
the
SP
gets
the
status
of
main
opposition
party
in
UP
or
not
in
the
2027
assembly
election,”
framing
the
next
polls
as
a
test
for
the
party.
He
began
his
criticism
of
the
Samajwadi
Party
with
poet
Shahab
Jafari’s
line,
saying:
“Tu
idhar
udhar
ki
baat
na
kar
ye
bata
ki
kafila
kyun
lootey”
(Don’t
talk
about
irrelevant
things,
tell
me
why
were
the
caravans
looted),
and
told
the
House
that
the
people
of
Uttar
Pradesh
knew
who
had
been
responsible
for
earlier
lawlessness.
According
to
Yogi
Adityanath,
the
Samajwadi
Party
government
did
not
act
against
mafia
groups
and
criminal
elements
and
instead
bowed
before
them,
whereas
his
administration
aimed
to
create
“an
environment
of
security
and
peace”
by
curbing
riots
and
anarchy,
with
the
chief
minister
insisting
that
law
and
order
had
been
stabilised
since
2017.
Referring
to
the
2005
Raju
Pal
murder
case,
Yogi
Adityanath
said
that
the
slain
legislator’s
spouse
Puja
Pal
had
later
entered
the
assembly
on
a
Samajwadi
Party
ticket,
yet
the
then
state
government
still,
according
to
the
chief
minister,
failed
to
deliver
justice
to
the
family,
even
though
“Pal
comes
from
the
PDA
community.”
The
chief
minister
alleged
that
the
Samajwadi
Party
administration
did
not
have
the
courage
to
confront
the
accused
and
instead
yielded
to
mafia
interests,
while
stressing
that
the
current
government
did
not
differentiate
between
ruling
and
opposition
figures
on
protection,
noting
that
“Sitting
SP
MLA
Vijma
Yadav
will
also
get
security.”
Responding
to
opposition
criticism
of
bulldozer
use,
Yogi
Adityanath
said
encroachments
on
government
land,
monuments
and
heritage
sites
would
not
be
accepted
regardless
of
who
was
involved,
asserted
that
“Government
land
belongs
to
the
poor,
not
to
the
mafia,”
and
announced
probes
into
alleged
encroachment
on
Gandhi
Smarak
land
in
Meerut
and
in
Siddharthnagar
districts.
On
recruitment
and
education,
he
answered
questions
about
appointing
a
retired
DGP
as
chairperson
of
the
UP
Education
Service
Selection
Commission
by
accusing
previous
Samajwadi
Party
governments
of
irregularities
in
these
processes,
and
stated:
“Just
as
he
(the
retired
DGP)
acted
decisively
against
organised
crime,
he
will
now
act
against
the
cheating
mafia.”
Yogi
Adityanath
closed
the
address
with
another
couplet,
saying:
“Though
the
path
may
hold
countless
challenges,
take
two
steps
forward
first.
Every
dream
will
come
true,
just
move
ahead—move
ahead,” presenting
this
as
a
message
for
Uttar
Pradesh
while
restating
that
his
government’s
priorities
were
security,
infrastructure
expansion
and
action
against
criminal
networks.
